Village of Oak Creek · Sedona, Arizona
Your spine wasn't built for straight lines. Neither is this.
The GYROTONIC® Method is one-on-one movement on specialized equipment that takes your body through circles and spirals: the way your joints actually want to move. It leaves you taller, steadier, and more at ease in your own body: mobility with strength built into it. And it is here in Sedona, in the Village of Oak Creek.
In plain language
Strength training for how you move, not just how you look.
Most exercise loads your muscles in straight lines: lift, press, crunch, repeat. The GYROTONIC® Method works differently. Its specialized equipment uses rotating pulleys and smooth, weighted resistance, so your spine and joints move through curves, waves, and spirals with support the whole way.
People often describe a session as swimming, yoga, dance, and strength work happening at the same time. Your spine bends, twists, lengthens, and decompresses. Your shoulders and hips learn to glide instead of grind. You finish feeling worked, but taller and more open instead of tight.
The difference in one look
Straight lines vs. spirals
Most training
- Moves in straight lines and flat planes
- Strengthens muscles by bracing the spine
- Repetitions of a fixed position
- Often leaves you compressed and tight
- The body adapts to the machine
The GYROTONIC® Method
- Moves in circles, waves, and spirals
- Mobilizes the spine through its full range
- Continuous, flowing sequences with breath
- Decompresses joints and lengthens the body
- The equipment adapts to your body
Who this is for
Built for bodies that want to move well again
No dance background needed. No flexibility prerequisite. Sessions are one-on-one, so the work always meets your body where it is.
Stiff backs & desk bodies
If your spine feels compressed, rounded, or years older than you are, this work is the antidote: gentle, supported movement through ranges your back has forgotten it has.
Golfers, tennis & pickleball players
Rotation is your sport. Almost no training actually trains it. Spiral-based resistance builds the turning strength and mobility your swing runs on.
Active people who hate the gym
A real physical practice with none of the gym floor: no mirrors, no crowds, no counting reps. One hour, one trainer, equipment that feels closer to an instrument than a machine.
Yogis, dancers & movers
The method was created by a dancer. If you already love movement, this adds resistance, dimension, and articulation your mat practice can't load.
Bodies rebuilding trust
After long recoveries or years of guarding, the supported, circular movement lets you explore range without bracing. Go at your body's pace, with hands-on guidance the whole session.
Anyone aging on purpose
The qualities this method trains, spinal mobility, balance, coordination, breath, are exactly the ones that keep you hiking Sedona trails for decades to come.
Your trainer
Taught by hands that know bodies
GYROTONIC® training here is led by Nicole Richards, a licensed massage therapist and myofascial release practitioner whose career has been spent reading bodies with her hands: where they hold, where they compensate, where they're ready to open.
The GYROTONIC® Method is the movement side of that same work. The table releases the tissue; the tower teaches it to move. Most movement trainers have never felt what a stuck spine is like from the inside. Nicole works with them every week.

What to expect
Your first session, step by step
We talk, briefly
A few minutes on your body's history: what it does all day, what bothers it, what you want back. Then we move. No paperwork marathon.
You meet the equipment
Seated at the tower, you'll learn the basic arcs and circles. Within minutes your spine is moving in ways that feel both brand new and strangely familiar.
You move, guided the whole way
Every movement is cued, supported, and adjusted to your body in real time. There is nothing to get wrong: the session is shaped around you.
You stand up different
Most people notice it immediately: taller, breathing lower into the body, shoulders sitting where they belong. That feeling is the method working.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Socks on the equipment. Bring water. That's the whole checklist.
